Ernie Stapleton

Ernie co-founded Fundamental in 1996. Over the past 15 years with Fundamental and 25 years as consultant to some of North America’s leading companies, Ernie has developed corporate communications plans, and helped C-suite executives implement appropriate communications strategies to win over key stakeholder groups – shareholders, sell-side analysts, brokers, customers, employees and the media. With a background in journalism, Ernie is recognized as an expert communicator with a strong knowledge of corporate affairs, behavioral finance and marketing and serves as Fundamental’s writer in residence and executive presentation coach.

John Simpson

John’s career began in 1970, first as a reporter, then as editor of one of Canada’s largest weekly newspapers. Since 1973, he has held various positions in corporate communications and investor relations.  He spent a number of years with Bell Canada International and BCE Inc. and subsequently served as Director of Corporate and Investor Relations for Southam Inc., one of Canada’s largest newspaper companies.  In 1992, he established his consulting practice, serving companies in virtually every sector with a wide variety of communications services.

Paul Reid

With an extensive background in photography, print and multimedia design, Paul has created branded visual material, including annual reports, corporate collateral, and national advertising campaigns for a wide range of public enterprises, including Progressive Waste Inc., Equitable Group Inc., ATS Automation, Rogers Business Solutions, Research In Motion, Labatt, Honda, Imperial Oil, Kraft and the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority.

Tara Pain Rowlands

As an independent communication and design consultant Tara has over 30 years of experience in the communication industry. Tara’s background includes: an apprenticeship in typography, experience in advertising, editorial, branding and corporate design. She has worked for a national magazine, an international advertising agency and several design firms handling corporate, retail and advertising accounts. Tara is a registered graphic designer, a member of the graphic design advisory committee for Georgian College, and has served as an elected member of the executive of the art director’s club of Toronto. In 1985, Tara started her own business working with a team of independent specialized professionals from all areas of the business including: Mary Acsai a detail oriented typesetter and production specialist, Colin McRae a gifted photoshop illustrator, web expert and senior art director; and a host of talented writers, photographers, printers and technical experts.

Rob Murphy

Since 1992 Rob has been supplying corporate clients with presentation graphics, combining a diverse set of technical skills with practical creative ideas, driven by a genuine interest in the businesses of his clients. Rob has worked in music production for advertising and film, web site design and production, video editing and 3D modelling and animation. He has served clients in the financial, resource development, manufacturing, arts and public service sectors.
